Melanie: Hi! I’m Melanie Rembrandt, and welcome to Yellowblue LED! Today we are talking to John Hutchcroft, the Vice President of Field Development at Yellowblue LED.
Welcome John!
John: Good Morning Melanie. How are you this morning?
Melanie: I’m great! How about yourself?
John: Great!
Melanie: Well, in this video I thought we’d tell people a little bit about what it’s like to work a Yellowblue LED, so why don’t we start with you telling us a little bit about your position there and how long you’ve been there?
John: Ok. I’ve been with the Yellowblue LED division now for five years, but I’ve been with the organization in various roles for a total of 37 years now.
My position is twofold. One is I’m Vice President of Field Development for Corporate, which means that I help to recruit and train new talent in the sales realm.
Then, I also run a local agency here in Bettendorf, Iowa so I’m out selling in the field like everyone else.
Melanie: Excellent! You’ve been there quite a while. Why don’t you tell us about some of the unique benefits of working there?
John: So, one of the nice things with Yellowblue LED is unlike a lot of other types of sales positions.
One, it’s for the most part, nine to five Monday through Friday and no weekends, holidays, or nights, that sort of thing, so for those of us who have sold residential and nights and weekends for a lot of years, it’s really a welcome change.
And then of course, the financial benefits…
You get to set your own income level, and so the more you put into it, the more you’re going to get out.
There’s no ceiling or cap. Technically, you’re self-employed so you get you get those types of benefits you’re in control. You get to set your own schedule.
You get to decide when you want to go on vacation, take time off, that sort of thing, so there is a lot of flexibility.
Melanie: It sounds like it! Well, let’s say someone out there is looking for a new position. why would you tell them to look at the opportunities available at Yellowblue LED?
John: Well, one is the income potential. Six figures and up is very doable. And then, of course, there is the freedom to schedule work when you want to work instead of having somebody dictate that to you, so it’s really nice.
Those are the two biggest things. You get to control your schedule and you get to control your income.
Melanie: Wow! Those are two very good benefits. Is there anything else you’d like to add that a potential new employee at Yellowblue LED would need to know about?
John: Right now, the lighting industry as a whole has literally exploded.
You know, when I first started five years ago, people had heard of LED lighting, and they knew a little bit about it. Now, they’re very familiar with it and the demand is very high.
They understand the energy savings, and now some of the utilities we’re working with offer to pay as much as the cost for the customer. So, what’s not to like about that! As a salesperson, it can be easy sales, and you don’t hear that very often!
Melanie: No, you don’t! Well, it sounds like Yellowblue LED had some really exciting career opportunities available, so if you’d like to find out more, visit www.yellowblueled.com.
Thanks so much, John!
John: You’re welcome!
Have a good day everyone!
